12/10 Thai North Noodle Curry Soup (Khao Soi) and Ginger Spiced Tea with Ploy
Authentic Thai Cooking Class at 7pm ET
Thai cuisine is full of aromatic ingredients, cooking styles, and dish decorations. In this online interactive class, we’ll make Khao Soi, an authentic noodle curry soup that is usually available only in Chiangmai, which is in the Northern part of Thailand. While Khao Soi is cooking, we’ll make delicious ginger spiced tea.
Khao Soi
Thai North noodle curry soup that is coconut-based soup. It’s easy to make and super delicious. We’ll make the curry paste from scratch. The dish usually contains egg noodles, but you can use any type of long pasta or even semolina pasta. The protein is usually chicken thigh (skin-on and bone-in) or chicken legs. But due to the time of the class, we’ll use bite sized chicken thighs. If you want to make the dish vegetarian or vegan, you can substitute chicken with bite sized fried tofu or assorted vegetables. Kitchen equipment you’ll need will be a blender, a pot and a lid to cook curry soup, a pot to cook noodles, and a kitchen spoon
Ginger Spiced Tea
It’s simply delicious herbal tea that you’ll love. This drink contains only ginger, cinnamon, and water. If you want to add any sweetener, you can choose from honey, granulated sugar, or brown sugar. You’ll only need a small saucepan to make the tea.
