All the Details:
💗 Step 1: Bake Muffins
We suggest baking in whatever way that you feel comfortable (that’s within your risk tolerance). This means that if you are comfortable doing baking parties, please go ahead! We recommend that you still limit the size of your baking parties to 20 people max, wear masks while indoors baking with others, and bake in a ventilated kitchen if possible.
We will be hosting a virtual bake-a-long party (we promise that it will be, without question, the most fun online event you’ve attended in the past three years)--you can register here: Baking Party.
Step 2: Give Muffins
As with Step 1, this year we're really suggesting that our Muffinteers participate to the extent they are comfortable. If you are good with handing out muffins to hungry folks in your city, then that's great! We recommend wearing masks and gloves if you do so. If you're more comfortable donating muffins to a local shelter, that's great too!
There are tons of amazing organizations that would love your delectable baked goods. If you are having trouble finding a place to donate muffins in your city, please let us know; we will also be posting locations of organizations to donate to in cities with large numbers of participants and invite you to share where you’re giving.
We’ll also have the Muffin Meter again this year to track any financial donation you might want to consider making to a worthy cause helping people who are experiencing homelessness. This is optional, of course, but encouraged.
Step 3: Share on Social Media!
Post photos of your muffins, baking soirees, and other National Muffin Day-related adventures on Instagram, Twitter, or our Facebook event page with #givemuffins. Feel free to tag us so we can share!
Philanthropic Match: For each Muffinteer who is seen participating in a #givemuffins post (including your kids of course, but sorry no pets), we will donate $5 to each of Project Homeless Connect (an organization in San Francisco that provides much-needed support to people experiencing homelessness there) and Family Promise (a national network helping unhoused families with many critical resources). We hope to get donation matches from corporate and other sponsors – we will keep you posted on that!
Let us know if you have ideas or want to support us in a creative way. In past years we’ve had thousands of participants, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in donations – let’s see if we can keep up that muffin momentum!
Thanks, everybody – we can’t wait to #GiveMuffins!

Save the Date for National Muffin Day. on Feb. 26th. Bake and #GiveMuffins to people who are hungry in your town. For every Muffinteer who shares on social media with #givemuffins at least $5 will be donated to causes that support people experiencing hunger and homelessness.
Wonderful idea. Hope to participate in some way!
